ABOUT HP
heather parrie (they/she) is a stl-based photographer, community organizer, and event-maker. raised in kansas city, missouri, HP learned to love photography while exploring the abandoned buildings, railroad, and graffiti in the west bottoms with friends. after 7 years in chicago, working in food justice through nonprofits and the service industry, she’s back in MO, pursuing a graduate degree in clinical social work, focused on substance use disorder treatment, and working in community harm reduction.
inspired by the city, their work is photojournalistic: capturing local events, concerts, weddings, families, and gatherings as they happen.
their work has been featured at the nelson atkins museum of art.
